in 2002, my family went car shopping on the 4th of july and we came home with a silver 2002 special edition honda accord.

today, my mom, dad, and i did some car shopping again... this time searching for a camry hybrid. and no, i don't have it yet. and why... because... well, my mom says we're not in a rush. and i say, because i haven't found the right one yet. and my dad says... well, he doesn't say much b/c my mom is the negotiator. and he knows that. plus, he's there to co-sign.

so...

red - i liked the red camry hybrid. my mom says it's "good for girls". there's one available in antioch. fully loaded. i was really set on getting the red one, too... but then... there was

white - the 50th anniversary special edition camry hybrid in blizzard white (pearlized). it was much prettier than the regular white which i thought looked kinda pasty... and it was only a thousand extra... plus the interior was nicer, too, so i guess it made sense. but it's limited and the one that we saw... was sold already. dangit. so now i'm searching... but the chances of me finding one now are pretty slim since they were released in march and only 2000-3000 were made. dangit.

so i went home, and thought about the red hybrid and the white anniversary hybrid.
and i realized.

i can't put my berkeley alumni license plate on a RED car. and i worked damn hard to get that alumni - berkeley engineering plate. ahaha!

well, i could put the plate on...

but...

blue = berkeley

red = hsssssssss.

you get the picture? yeah, i just complicated the situation even more with that one...

ok. so,

blue - so i thought about maybe getting the blue one at that point, but... the blue one didn't hide dirt/dust very well. and my mom says "blue is for boys". lol. and it's not really my kind of blue...

but i'm glad that i'm getting a new car. i mean, who wouldn't be. hybrids are expensive, but it'll pay off in fuel costs i hope, and camrys are really solid vehicles. my parents are helping me with the down payment and co-signing b/c i have no credit history of my own... so i've gotta start somewhere, and where better than w/ a car that i will be able to financially handle w/ my new job beginning august 6th.

so yes... quite a day... no car... still searching.
red, white, and blue. go figure.
